Hello vvangelov ,the 3.0 tdi will go up to 300 000km if the oil change was regular at 10 000km. If not 180 000 240 000km ,that is my opinion. Mine was at 210 000 the ratle at the morning started. Now its at 240 000km and,im planing to replace it soon. The engine must be pulled outh for a proper replacment of the chain drive ,and reseal the block.

Don't re-use the lower metal timing cover. Just buy the parts from a place like audiusaparts.com, it's the same cost or little more than aftermarket and you get what you pay for. The spark plugs need to be changed every 100,000 miles or so unless it's a copper one. A cooper spark plug needs to be changed every 30,000 miles or so. You will come into many issues with an engine. A dire problem is the
Labor and parts for the timing chain tensioner was $4k but that was covered by warranty company. The rest of the guides, rails, timing chain, I just had to pay ~$700 for OEM parts, but labor was covered in that $4k. 11-11-2020 08:44 AM #13. IbisA7TDI. Established Member Two Rings.
1. Drive out the crankshaft seal with a hammer and punch. This is the rubber seal around the crankshaft and the timing cover. 2. Tap the new crankshaft seal into the timing cover. The seal should be seated into the correct place on the timing cover. It will seal when the cover is bolted onto the engine. 3.
