The problem I am seeing is engine idling/revs behaviour, from cold it idles at just over 900 rpm and won't drop until a good 15 minutes of driving. When it does eventually drop to just over 800 rpm it will on occasion sit back at 900 even though the engine has warmed up. The light should blink once. If it does then the coil ring and transponder are fine. To eliminate the Crankshaft Position Sensor, do the following: 1. insert key into ignition. 2. stare at the needle on the tachometer. 3. turn key to the start position and while it is cranking, the needle should fluctuate slightly. ML 270 CDi. Hi, My Ml 270 has developed a problem causing it to not start when hot or warm. The engine turns over but will not fire, like it's not getting fuel. Local garage has scanned the vehicle and found no faults which would cause the problem.
