It is a very depressing book, with only a happy ending in the last chapter. Katniss had PTSD, Peeta, Johanna, and Annie get tortured inhumanly. Two main, amazing characters die horrible deaths. Also the "good guys" create inhuman weapons to use against the Capitol.
Last month, Jia reviewed a new to us YA book called Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It’s a story about a teenager forced to fight in a brutal game to the death against 23 other teenagers. Others decided to read it and so we thought it would be fun to have a Book Club discussion. We’ve never really done this before so bear with us.

Peeta and Katniss naturally bond because they are the two tributes from District 12. Katniss is suspicious and does not learn to trust easily though. Peeta takes it one step further by announcing
3. Is there life outside of Panem? At one point in Ballad, a group of District 12 rebels plan to leave 12 and escape into the woods. They believe that there are people living north, outside of Panem, but Coriolanus dismisses this idea and insists that there's nothing beyond Panem, which isn't entirely true.
Summary. After the Second Rebellion, Panem saw positive changes as Commander Paylor became the new president, abolished the Hunger Games, and established a constitutional republic.
