Happily the choice of engines was also right: the 3.2V6 Q4, and the 2.2 four-cylinder front-drive. (I'd already done the 2.4 Multijet in the tintop Brera coupe) It's breathtakingly beautiful to look at, of course. Somehow better balanced and less front-heavy looking than the Brera Coupe. As for the numbers, i dont know about the 2.2 but i know there were only 38 brera 3.2's imported to SA. Alfa Romeo- Only passions, great passions can elevate the soul to great things.
The 2.2 Brera S is a much much better car to drive than its ordinary equivalent. The visual enhancements work well, too, with Prodrive labeled stone deflectors, D-shaped tailpipes, S badges, and
The Brera-derived Spider soft-top, known internally as the Type 939, reached the UK in spring 2007. There was a choice of 2.2 JTS or 3.2-litre JTS V6 petrol models, or a 200bhp 2.4 JTDm diesel.

Alfa Romeo Brera (2005-2010) owner reviews “Stunning to look at but not so great to drive, the Alfa Romeo Brera turns heads wherever it goes.” Surprisingly reliable for an alfa.

The Brera comes from the time GM had more impact, bean counters cut costs across all the Alfa ranges and both Brera and 159 can suffer from poor quality although strangely somme seem immune to it other than front subframes. They don't drive like an Alfa either, the V6 GM unit doesn't like to rev and it certainly doesn't sound like a potent engine.
Audi has 245 bhp and will 0-62 in 5.8, whereas the alfa has 260 bhp, and does 0-62 in 6.5. That's very disappointing. And the audi a5 is a great tourer for long journeys. The brera really is a beautiful thing, but the 3.2 ruins it imo. The jtdm 2.4 with a bit of light tuning would keep up with the 3.2.
