Accommodations are 1.5 times more expensive in Prague than in Budapest. Food can be even twice the price. One thing they have in common is the cheap local beer, between 1 and 2 Euro based on the pub. Usually the flight ticket to Prague is cheaper, just because there is more competition.

@MarthyJ. Everyone has a bias. ;) Personally, I think Budapest and Prague are very similar. But, I prefer Budapest between the two. Though Prague wins for beer. @kasuperwoman. The Budapest Christmas Market is a bit smaller than Dresdan, but quite crowded so not sure what you are exactly looking for.
